Colca Canyon

Der Colca Canyon is der zweit tiefste Canyon der Welt. Am ersten Tag haben wollten wir bei Sonnenaufgang die Kondore fliegen sehen. Die habe allerdings bis 8 Uhr auf sich warten lassen. Schweinehunde. Mir war so kalt vom rumstehen im Wind, dass ich nach einer Weile in meinen Schlafsack geklettert bin um warm zu bleiben. ;-) Wir sind an einem Tag in 16km die 1200m zum Grund des Canyons abgestiegen und am naechsten die gleiche Hoehendifferenz in in 5km wieder hoch. Das war echt anstrengend. Aber ich habe es in 2h25min geschafft. Unsere Gepaeck haben wir allerdings von Eseln hochtragen lassen. ;-) Die Nacht haben wir unten im Canyon in einer Oase verbracht. Es gab zwar einen Pool, aber dafuer war unsere Behausung eine Bambushuette, wo der Wind durchpfiff und der Boden drinnen war nur Erde.


The Colca Canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world. On the frist day we wanted to see the condors fly at sunrise. But the took their time and didn´t fly until 8am. Bastards. I was so cold from waiting in the wind, that I climbed into my sleeping bag to keep warm ;-) On the first day we hiked 16km distance and 1200m in hight to the bottom of the canyon and on the next day we hiked the same hight difference in 5km long switchbacks back up. That was quite tough. But I made it in 2h25min. We had donkey carry our backpacks back up ;-). We spent the night in an oasis at the bottom of the canyon. They even had a pool there, but our hut was made out of bamboo with the wind blowing through and the floor inside was only dirt.
