Baños liegt relative niedrig in den Anden ("nur" 1800m) auf der "Dschungelseite". Die Vegetation ist schon super gruen, wenn auch noch kein richtiger Regenwald. Von Baños aushabe haben ich und zwei Englaendern eine Radtour in den Regenwald gemacht. Da startet man auf den 1800m und faehrt eine Gebirgstrasse runter bis ca 950m, wo schon Regenwald ist. Wir haben es 45km weit geschafft. Und dies Gebirgsstrasse ging nicht nur bergab! Es ist faszinierend wie sich die Vegetations langsam veraendert. Und es gab super schoene Wasserfaelle. Leider hat es an dem Tag in Stroemen geregent, aber die Baedern, die von dem heissem Wasser des Vulkans neben Baños gespeist werden, haben uns wieder aufgewaermt.

I did a bikecycle tour with 2 English guys I met into the rainforest. We stared at 1800m and rode down a mountain road to ca 950m, where it is already rainforest. We made it 45km. And that road wasn´t only donwhill. It was amazing to see the vegetation change slowly. And we saw some amazing waterfalls. Unfortunately it was raining all day, but the hot bath that is fed by the hot water from the vulcano next to Baños warmed us up again
